Voting for the first week of Project Toddler Runway is closed, and...
My yellow and gray dress project received the most votes! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was so nervous all weekend - lurking on Shwin&Shwin's blog practically nonstop!
The challenge was "The Shirt Off Your Back", or an upcycle challenge. I have a drawer in my sewing desk devoted to clothes that I love but don't fit anymore, so this challenge was right up my alley! I grabbed this gray striped shirt and yellow dress that are never going to fit back over my mommified chest and went to town.
My inspiration was the Oliver + S jump rope dress. In all the week one excitement, I was a bit of a dunderhead and hardly took any photos along the way to do a tutorial.
I don't know how long it will take me to get a tutorial put together, since I'm busy making my "Wear a Flower In Your Hair" challenge for week 2. I'll do my very, very best to get it done soon - promise.

congratulations! I love your version of the Jumprope Dress! I made one in her roundabout dots fabric a while back for my local fabric store...I blogged about it if you are interested in checking it out. Anyway, I can't wait to see what you have in store for this weeks challenge! I posted your dress on my page with a link to your blog...I hope that's alright with you. Come by this Wednesday and Saturday if you have time. I will be posting two giveaways this week.
