KCWC: Day 5

I’m kind of a big deal in certain circles.  Those circles being my friend’s son Victor.  He requested a cow costume for Halloween a couple of years ago and has since named me his personal costumer.  He wanted to be a tree this year, which seems a relatively easy request – sort of.
This is how it all began.  A grey hoodie, two boxes of dye, and some faux fall leaves.  I dyed the bottom half brown and the top half green and then started pinning leaves all over the green parts.  Easy enough, except of course I can’t use the sewing machine to attach the leaves on the arms.

So, I’ve spent a couple of chunks of today’s available sewing time hand stitching leaves to a sweatshirt.  It’s a good watching the girls play and later relaxing with some television task.  I’ve still got to figure out how to make the pants match the brown on the shirt since it didn’t take the dye dark enough and there’s a fun detail I have yet to add.

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to get to some non-Halloween sewing.  Arden approved a couple of looks from the latest Mini Boden for me to try and knock off, so I’m looking forward to that challenge!
