Yay! I made it! I easily completed my daily hour assignment for participating in Kids Clothes Week Challenge. Today I was able to get these pants inspired by the Mini Boden heart patch trousers drafted, cut and almost complete. I still need to insert the elastic and the twill tape into the waistband and hem them, but I need Arden to get the right measurements and I need wider elastic than I have on hand.
Mini Boden version: $42.
My version: About $4. I bought the corduroy on sale at JoAnn's and I had the contrast fabric and the rib knit in my stash. This was another page I dog-eared from the most recent catalog and Arden approved. We wanted to make them in the turquoise color shown, but there was only a very fine-whale corduroy in that color and I didn't think it would stand up to outside play.
I had some fun with contrasting fabric on the insides of pockets.
I love the heart pockets on the backside.
And the contrast stitching.
