March Package Pals: What I Sent

For the March Package Pal exchange, I was partnered with Amy from Life Is A Trip Worth Taking.  I so love doing these exchanges as it’s really nice to get to know a new creative cohort!  (Had to throw in a little alliteration there!).  So far each of the Pals I’ve gotten to know through C.R.A.F.T.s Package Pal exchanges have been kind enough to be prolific Pinners which makes it super easy to get a feel for the kinds of things that might appeal to them.

Amy had these Anthropologie yo-yo pushpins both in her boards and featured on her blog.

I changed them ever so slightly to make my version by adding a button to the center and making them magnets instead.  If you want to make your own yo-yo’s they’re super easy – check out this nice tutorial from Heather Bailey.

Then I decided to make a divided basket using the Noodlehead pattern with which I am so in love!

It was fun to find coordinating fabrics that I thought Amy would enjoy – the chevron is from my stash at home.

She also had these numbered burlap coasters pinned and I thought those would be fun and easy to make.

I used my Silhouette to cut stencils from freezer paper.  Add some fabric paint, stitch around (I made mine two layers thick), fray and bam! burlap coasters.  I might have to make some of these for myself since I still have tons of burlap from Hadley’s 1st birthday party.

I tossed in a couple of rolls of washi tape from Pick Your Plum just for extra fun!

You ARE the best Package Pal ever! I was so lucky to be paired with you. I absolutely love everything! I can’t wait to use the washi tape and the coasters look great on my coffee table. I was standing in the kitchen looking at my fridge last night thinking how cute it looked with my magnets! And, of course, the tote is beautiful!
