I Won Something Amazing!!

I enter giveaways whenever I have a minute, and I’ve won some great prizes along the way.  But the e-mail I got a couple of weeks ago blew me away:

I was just minding my own business, watching TV and casually checked my e-mail on my phone.  Wha-wha-what!!!!  Choking on my own breath I ran upstairs to tell Dave, go to the bathroom and then write Sandra back.  That took less than ten minutes from when she sent her e-mail.

If you haven’t heard of Sawdust Girl, then you must have been living out of the country or something.  She’s the mastermind behind Beckie of Infarrantly Creative’s massive craft room project and offers her services to anyone who needs a little help to build something amazing.  Her tagline is “You can build it… I can help!”.  I had shown Hubby Dave her impressive closet build video earlier that same week, so he was slightly less confused when I burst into the bedroom to tell him about my win.

So that’s why we needed an updated family portrait – so Sandra could share who won the big prize!!

We chose to add built in beds and shelving to Arden’s room.  Arden originally wanted a triple bunkbed, but Sandra and I talked her down and here’s the initial draft of the design:

Two beds with a trundle under the one on the left, storage under the one on the right, and a built-in shelving unit to the right.  I’m going to be making cabinet doors – me!!  Eeek!!  I’ll be sharing my progress over at Sawdust Girl as part of the Sawdust Diaries, as well as here at A Jennuine Life.  Wish me luck!
