Catching Up

I feel like I’ve just been playing catch-up lately.
Etsy orders are (happily) pretty constant – who knew nautical flags are popular during the summer, right?  I’ve also been having a ball pattern testing over the last few weeks and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been making.  My girls are thoroughly enjoying their new garments – two for each of them.
Add to that my part time day job as an accountant – I’ve been training on a new job over the last few months, and covering another desk during a lapse between job moves and a new hire coming in.  Doing two full-time jobs on a part-time (3 days a week) schedule is getting to be a lot.  Luckily I’ll be able to hand over the interim job to the new hire, but not in time to miss the 2014 budgeting cycle.  Then there’s the time and effort to train someone new; both to the specific role and to our company.
I do like to keep busy so there’s that, but I’m starting to fray at the edges just a bit.  I’d really like to work on drafting new patterns and let’s not even talk about the state of my refrigerator or the volume of weeds in my “garden” (term used extremely loosely!).  I don’t think I’ve been to bed before midnight in weeks, and that would be an early evening.  You also saw in Wednesday’s post that my Sawdust Girl project is scheduled to begin soon.  Phew!  Anyone wanna come be my assistant?  Pay is ummm…. zero and you could bunk in with Hadley – she only screams for her pacifier occasionally, I swear!
I’m thoroughly looking forward to a joint vacation with my sister in law and her family.  Our little family has been renting a cottage for a week at the end of the summer for the past couple of years and this year we get to extend it to include the cousins.  Yay!
Enough rambling – If you’re still with me, here’s a link to the Lil Blue Boo back to school sale.  Save 20% on clothing, patterns, and digital art.  This is an affiliate link, so If you order after clicking through I get a percentage (thank you!).

Do you like this kind of “behind the curtain” post from me?  Love it, hate it, couldn’t care less?  Let me know – thanks!
