Project Run & Play Season 8!

Yes, you read the title correctly!  I’m a contestant for the upcoming season of Project Run & Play.  It’s been so surreal…  After getting to the final vote for the open spot in Season 7 but not continuing to the competition, the e-mail from Elizabeth and liZ made my jaw drop.  So if you’ve noticed a lack of projects showing up here, it’s because I’ve been busy behind the scenes.

I’m trying to savor the experience as much as I possibly can.  I thoroughly enjoy the creative process this competition promotes – coming up with a concept for the challenges, drafting or modifying patterns, choosing fabrics, fiddling with the details, and planning and executing the photo shoot.  So for the next five weeks or so, just picture me at my cutting table or sewing machine with a smile on my face and Pandora playing in the background while I wallow in my own personal nirvana.

To celebrate and share my excitement with all of you, I asked Jodi from Sew Fine Fabric if she would sponsor a giveaway.  She gave a hearty “yes” and gave me a choice of bundles from which to pick.

Monaluna’s Urban Patch was my choice – aren’t those trees just the cutest?  And the cars are perfect for boys and girls.

Here’s the Rafflecopter widget – good luck!

Thanks! My plan is to get everything completed before the competition begins so I can relax (as much as that is possible!) while the voting is going on.

Do you two design and sew together? I was thinking the only thing that would make this more perfect would be sharing it with someone!

I think that’s excellent advice! Sometimes I catch myself questioning my design and I just need to focus on making things I love and my daughters will love to wear…

My advice is to get enough sleep during this time. Creativity is dependent on a rested mind. So just remember, sleep is important. i am looking forward to see what your creative mind has in store for us!
