Florida 2014

We took our annual trip to visit my parents in Florida at the beginning of February.  Happily, we missed part of one of the rounds of frigid temperatures while enjoying the beautiful weather in Southwestern Florida.

We took a couple of trips out on the boat, once to a sandbar, or what we call “shell island”.

The girls happily dug in the seashell-laden sand.

And after collecting some shells and exploring a bit, they had a snack in the sun.

We went to a children’s museum, where one of the highlights was the hopping balls and the rolling hill.

Back out on the boat to a sandy beach perfect for digging holes to China…

Landing first fish with Grandpa Fishy by Arden…

… and by Hadley.

Sandy snacks for the girls.

Arden even reeled in a small shark.  Which she had zero interest in touching.

Hadley was a little braver, and we did get Arden to pet him a little before sending him on his way.

The splash park was a big hit!

And we wrapped up the trip with a visit to the big playscape where Arden made repeated trips through this tire tunnel, dropping to the level below.

If you follow me on Instagram (@jennuinelife) you would have seen repeated images of the girls playing in the kiddie pool on the porch.  It’s so simple, but just perfect!  The girls play in the pool and we hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather from the screened porch.  No hats, no sunscreen, and mango smoothies are a few steps away!

These pictures are just part of the fun times we had, but mostly we just spent time together and enjoyed time with Grandma Sunshine and Grandpa Fishy and the sunny Florida weather.
