Five

So Arden dear, you’re five whole years old now.  In the past I’ve shared all the firsts of the year, but as you get older there are fewer firsts to be had.

Instead, this year has been more about developing and growing; letting your personality expand and shine.  You are thoughtful and insightful.

Quirky and original.

Adventurous and fun-loving.

Silly and warm.

You care about others’ feelings and what you can do to make them happy.

You love a good snuggle, and getting to watch a show cozied up under a blanket.

You can be bold and brave.

I think there’s a tough girl…

… lurking inside.

There were still some firsts during your fifth year – you learned to sew on your own sewing machine, and did so with shocking capability.

And you also learned to fish and even helped land a little shark with Grandpa Fishy.

I love you more than my arms can hold, Arden dear!  I can’t wait to see what adventures your sixth year holds!

Here are the responses to the 20 questions I ask Arden each year on her birthday:

It’s fun comparing to her answers from prior years – her responses from turning four and three can be found in the links under the ages.

So fun! Happy birthday Arden! Love the pictures and interview. I think she would be friends with my Ansley.
