LOL Swing Top Testing Progress and Other Updates

Greetings everyone!  I hope you had an enjoyable 4th of July!  We are really lucky to live within walking distance of a world-class fireworks display that runs for three days over the 4th.  Every year we load up the girls in their Radio Flyer wagon and have a little parade down to the riverfront.  On the days that we don’t walk down, we can watch the larger fireworks that appear over the trees from our house.

I’ve been pattern testing my LOL Swing Top pattern – thanks so much for all the amazing responses to my call for testers!  Over 100 talented ladies signed up to test, and it was really difficult to narrow it down to the 20% I selected.

First Finish Front

First Finish Back

Shelly of Sew Shelly Sew whipped up the first finish during pretesting and how cute does her little girl look in it?  She’s already made another and she’s going to give the knit version a go as well!

Testing has been going really great – the only hangup so far is the variability in the stretch of ribbing to finish the edges on the knit versions.  I’ll be adding a whole section on determining the stretch of your ribbing and the dimensions to use for each category.  A little bit of opening a can of worms, but I think it’s worth it to open up the option for using comfy knits!

Skirt Fixation

This week I’m also participating in Skirt Fixation’s Challenge Create: Fabric Swap Edition.

Linen Fabric AJL

I chose to swap linen fabrics between four other ladies’ – check back tomorrow to see what I made with this amazing solid salmon-colored linen I received from Sara at Gladys and Viv.  You can link up your creations you’ve made with linen beginning today at Skirt Fixation.

It will probably continue to be pretty quiet around here unless I have something specific to share from pattern testing, guest posting, or participating in series’.  I’m not taking any kind of a blog break, but I’m going to be just going with the flow more and trying not to overcommit myself this summer.  Enjoy!
