Antalya Dress :: Willow and Co. Pattern Tour

The latest line from Willow and Co. is here!  I was given a choice of any pattern to make from the collection.  It was a daunting task, so I showed Arden the different designs and let her pick.  She chose the Antalya Dress designed by Olga of Kid Approved.  I love this dress with the unique side panels, drop waist and the cute little dolman sleeves.  The pattern goes from 12-18m through 12 years so all your cuties can be sporting this sweet look!

Since she made her choice of pattern, I also let her choose the fabric.  This is Summer Night Lights from the Wee Wander collection by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller.  The pattern includes great instructions for piping the seam between the front and back bodices and the side panels, so I sandwiched in some white piping.  I really would have loved sneak some mini pom pom trim in there, but I didn’t have any on hand.  It’s a good hike to the closest spot to find fun trims, so stash piping was it.

We had planned to walk down to the park and check out the goslings that have been toddling about and to take photos.  However, moments before we were ready to head out Hadley locked herself in the bathroom.  Our house was built in the 1920’s so there isn’t that little hide-a-key way to open it from the outside.  So while Hadley hung out in the bathroom, we took photos in the backyard.  Arden was more than happy to show off her new acrobatic skills, and prove that the Antalya Dress has plenty of room for hard play.

Arden also requested heart buttons for the back closure.  That made my choice between the exposed zipper and the button back easy.  This closure really is unique and has potential for so much creativity with contrasting or coordinating fabrics.  I love using sewn button loops and I think that might work well with this back.

The pattern has layers for printing, one of my favorite technical features!  All measurements are given in both metric and imperial measurements to save you calculating to your preferred unit.

The verdict is that we both loved the Antalya Dress!  Be sure to check out the rest of the tour by visiting the Willow & Co. blog.

Love this dress Jenn. The fabric and piping are so perfect for it. I usually prefer buttons for the same reason – they provide so much room for creativity and can be a wonderful detail. Very cute photos 🙂
