Ojai Wrap Pattern Tour

Today I get to show off the Ojai Wrap pattern by Justine Marie Patterns!  Justine is a friend and fellow newly-released designer, and you probably are already familiar with her as Sew Country Chick.

I used a pretty cool knit to make my Ojai.  It’s solid navy and an ivory lace stripe that I bought from Jo-Ann Fabrics.  I had been eying it for a while and never had the right project for it since the lace stripes are pretty sheer.  But for a nice breezy wrap?  Perfect!

Billed as a one-hour sew, this version took a little longer since I was trying valiantly to match up the stripes across the side seams.  I went with opposing match across the shawl for as long as I could since I couldn’t continue matching them around the neckline.  Aside from my self-induced complications, this was a very easy and fulfilling project.

I busted out my brand-spakin’ new remote to take these shots.  I found this one that slides into the hot shoe on my camera and then connects into the wired shutter release port.  I’m still working on taking decent pictures of myself – I’m way more comfortable directing Arden and Hadley than I am figuring out what works best for myself.

If you’re looking for an easy wrap that will be perfect for spring and on through cool summer nights and into fall, the Ojai Wrap is it!  It’s sized XS through XL, which covers commercial sizes 0 through 18.

Thanks so much for taking art Jenn! You did a beautiful job perfectly matching those stripes and I LOVE that fabric! And the photos are great, too. I have a feeling I need to buy a remote, too. i get so annoyed with my kids telling me how to pose I end up with a big frown across my face half the time! And then they only will take like 4 pictures…

I think you did a great job, but I agree that it’s so much easier to direct someone else than it is to take pics of yourself. Great top btw 😉
