Rainbow Party: Favors

Getting ready for a kid’s birthday party adds the fun element of party favors.  I love trying to come up with things which will be appreciated by guests and coordinate with the theme, if possible.
Remember this great project by Amy at Serving Pink Lemonade?  It was linked up at one of my Thrifty to Nifty Thursdays parties and I immediately pinned it as a favor idea.  She used a travel medical kit as the container which is awesome and thrifty when you’re making one, but not so thrifty when you’re making twelve.
So I browsed around on Etsy and came across these white Altoid tins at Tin Supply.  Natalie even has printable labels you can buy along with the tins to make them extra special.

So I filled them up with crayons, added little pads of paper to the top…

… and whipped up a cute label for the top!  Natalie provides an Acrobat file or Word template to make it so super quick – I just created an image in Picmonkey and then pasted it into the spots on the template.

The other favors are these cute Twizzler and Rolo “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow” treats.  I used 4″ x 6″ Wilton treat bags which worked out perfectly to hold five wrapped Rolos and six rainbow Twizzlers halves.  Aren’t they cute?

Today I’m up to my elbows in rainbow colored goodies – hopefully I can give a food preview before the party.

These are awesome…my son is quite the artist and I’ve always wanted to do an artist-themed party for him. I am so attracted to rainbow stuff, I can’t stop looking at your pics! Where did you get the chevron and polkadot backgrounds? Stopping by and newest follower from MTWC link party. http://www.styleoyster.blogspot.com

Cool! Another fun party favor is the TickleMe Plant Party Favor. In it you can easily grow a real house plant that moves and closes its leaves like crazy when you Tickle It!
