2013 In Review

One of my favorite parts of the beginning of a new year is reviewing the accomplishments of the last.  To that end, I give you my most popular posts from 2013, as provided by Google Analytics:

10: Camper Hat Pattern and Tutorial.  The first pattern I released, and hopefully the first of many!  These little hats were worn by my girls every day this summer.  I recently remixed this pattern for a whole new look, so I might offer an expansion to this eventually.  Animal ears, anyone?

9: Tinkerbell Costume.  I loved how this turned out!  Arden and Hadley both continue to wear this as part of their dress-up bin.

8: Cozy Thanksgiving Sweater Dress.  I made this as a contributor for a Handcrafted Holidays series my friend Hayley at Welcome to the Mouse House was running.  Arden is still in love with this dress and wears it at least once a week.  I still need to make Hadley a skirt or shirt out of the rest of the sweater knit, or maybe I’ll whip up a cowl for myself!

7: DIY Upholstery Sofa Rehab.  Man, oh man!  What a difference this made in our living room!  It had literally gotten embarrassing how gross the leather on our sofa cushions had become and now they’re so nice with the new upholstery.  I saved some of the better bits of leather from the old cushion covers and they’ll be making an appearance in some upcoming projects.

6: The Matinée Dress.  Both Arden and Hadley have versions of this dress now and they love it!  I am in the process of digitizing this pattern to send to testers and eventually offer for sale.  Watch for it!  Sign up to become a tester here!

5: Sew This Look.  I’m so happy this series is getting a welcome reception.  I will keep on doing it so long as there’s interest.

4: Crock Pot Apple Butter.  We are still eating our way through the apple butter we made from this year’s bumper crop of apples.

3:  Arden’s Rainbow Party Dress.  Oh, this dress is well-loved!  Arden wore it every chance she could until it became more of a tunic on her.  Happily, it has passed on to Hadley who continues to enjoy the rainbow goodness.  It’s popular with more than just my two girls; I have an order in the works for two of them through my Etsy shop.

2:  Collectively, my posts for the PVC Playhouse and Sunshade are probably the most popular, but on an individual basis the most viewed one came in 2nd.  I have been happy to see a few versions of this made by readers and I hope they’re being enjoyed as much as ours has been.  This project was featured on Apartment Therapy.

… and the most popular post from 2013 is my Seat Back Entertainment Organizer, a project I completed for Sew-vivor.  This is still in place in the car and gets regular use.  I eventually will need to make another for the back of the driver seat, but for now Hadley is fine borrowing Arden’s.  This project was also featured on Apartment Therapy, which was what got my foot in the door for having the PVC Playhouse featured.
