Bimaa Twinners

I knew I’d be making more immediately.  I set out with the remains of the floral knit remaining from the first, thinking I’d have to make short sleeves or use coordinating fabrics…

…but happy day!  I was able to get two shirts excluding the cowl from one yard of jersey.  Arden’s was a size 5 and I made a 3T for Hadley.  This pattern is a slim fit, which works well for my girls.

With the pattern named Bimaa Sweater, it would seem logical to have used sweater knit.  This cotton jersey from Girl Charlee worked great, and the sweater knit with an open weave design was from the red tag section at Jo-Ann.  I’ve seen a version done with a woven cowl, and I am itching to try that out as well!  This is seriously a versatile pattern!

I made some slight modifications to the pattern.  Both Arden and Hadley are broad-shouldered and I did notice that the cap of Arden’s sleeve set in from the peak of her shoulder a little.  For Hadley’s I used the size 5 shoulder width and redrew the armscye to meet back up with the 3T for the rest of the pieces.  This process is a whole lot more forgiving with knits and I think it worked out very well.  I could probably even bring it out a little more, so it was well worth adjusting the fit in this area.

We had some fun taking photos in Arden’s room – we’re finally getting some more sunlight, so these are significantly better lit than the one I took of Arden by herself.  I love how cute the two of them can be together at times.

We ended with some monkeys jumping in Arden’s bed, so I thought a little gif was in order.  Luckily, nobody fell off and bumped their head!
