Flip This Pattern :: September Showcase

It’s been killing me to have to wait to tell you that I am participating as a designer for Frances Suzanne’s Flip This Pattern September Showcase!

September Showcase will highlight ten designs by upcoming indie designers with five or less children’s patterns – hey that’s me!  Bloggers and designers will be sewing up selected patterns from each of the designers.  My LOL Swing Top will be showcased on September 9th by Angie of Edith & Eloise, Destri of The Mother Huddle (and Sewlosophy), and Hayley of Welcome to the Mouse House.  The LOL Swing top and all of my patterns will be on sale through September 20 with the code SHOWCASE.  The code is set up for both my own Jennuine Design shop as well as my Etsy shop.

The other designers and I also get the fun of flipping things around and showcasing another designer’s featured pattern, so I’ll be sewing the Serendipity Swing Coat (Notice the slight similarity in the names?  How fun is that!).  Since it’s a showcase, we’re left to our own devices whether we want to flip the pattern or sew it as written.  I’m planning on making only a slight modification to Destri’s pattern, but mostly it will be as is – such a cute pattern and have you seen the videos she includes for constructing each garment in the collection?  I love that!  So many people are visual learners and besides just the video aspect, it’s like you’re peaking over her shoulder while she’s sewing and I always find I pick up little tricks or subtle nuances when I watch someone else work.

Besides all the sample sewing, there’s more fun with the September Showcase.  There’s also a sew along where you can link up any garment made using a pattern from ANY independent designer with five or fewer children’s sewing patterns.  If you’ve sewn it, flipped it, mashed it up or tested it – link away!
