Jalie #3677 Helene Shawl Collar Cardigan :: Sly Fox Fabrics Style

I’m sure you’re familiar by now with my fondness for Jalie patterns and Sly Fox Fabrics.  My latest fabric to try out was a wondrously soft and cozy floral sweater knit.  I knew it would pair nicely with Jalie’s Helene Shawl Collar Cardigan – #3677.

First the fabric: for real it’s like a warm hug.  I had to wait a couple of days to take photos so I didn’t risk overheating when it was still in the high 80’s (yeah right, climate change is a myth??).  The colors are really vibrant and the floral print is really beautiful and timeless.  I love the scale and random print of the flowers – no worrying about a great big flower right on your boob or accidentally sewing a section upside down.  This is a sweater knit and will be stocking on October 3rd.  It should show up in the sweater knits section of the shop.  I’ll edit this post with a direct link when it’s available.

The fabric worked great with Jalie’s #3677 Helene Shawl Collar Cardigan.  As is usual for Jalie, the pattern covers a ginormous size range – from girls’ size 2 to women’s 22.  I fell into size 16, or CC for Jalie size nomenclature.  I love the horizontal inseam pocket, I always feel cozier with a spot to stick my hands when I’m chilly!

The fit is perfect for me, though I’ll lengthen just a touch next time for a bit more booty coverage to wear with leggings.

I’ve already tossed this cardigan on with several different outfits.  The navy, burgundy and olive color scheme fits right in with my wardrobe.  Arden even borrowed it today when she got a little chilly at the Renaissance Faire.

Here you can see the lushness and saturation of the fabric.  I did prewash and it didn’t lose any of the color intensity.  I really think you’ll fall in love with this sweater knit!
