Project Run and Play Holiday Pattern Tour

Audrey and the folks at Project Run and Play put together a special Holiday Pattern Tour to show off how well the patterns available in the shop work for special events.  Our big event is the Holiday Concert at the girls’ school, where all the kids will get on stage by grade and sing a series of songs.  The fourth grade band will also put on a nice little set, and Arden will be playing flute in that.

I made this festive outfit for Hadley that will work great for the concert and beyond.  I made the fur vest using Gracious Thread’s Puffin Vest with some small modifications.

I omitted the back yoke and shortened the vest by several inches.  I also left off the zipper and collar and copied the curve on the back onto the front as well.  This left me with a very simple version of the vest, perfect for this super fuzzy faux fur.  Hadley has worn the vest to school a couple of times and her friends (and the teacher’s aid!!) enjoyed petting the soft fur.

The dress is Mouse House Creation’s Janie Dress.  I made the ballet neckline with faux Peter Pan collar and the gathered circle skirt.  If you’ve got a “twirler” on your hands, this option will be a winner in your house!

There’s that dramatic ballet neckline…  Hadley loved that when I pointed it out to her.  With the woven Peter Pan collar on the front it works best to have the lower back neckline to be sure it will clear the head.  There’s also a regular bodice back.

I added the optional pockets because… pockets.  I love how the plaid changes angles around the gathered circle.

Hadley’s ready for the holidays, and so are the other tour participants – be sure to check in at Project Run and Play to see them all!
