Kid’s Clothes Week: Day 2

In between an Etsy order for a couple of Rainbow dresses, I busted out a Bimaa for Arden.  I made it on Day 2 of Kid’s Clothes Week, hence the title, but didn’t get a chance to take pictures of her in it until today.

My apologies for the poorly lit, grainy photos.  It’s been very overcast the last few days so this was the best I could do.  Arden is standing in the partially completed bookcase I’m building in her room.

This is my first Bimaa Sweater by EmmyLouBeeDoo.  It will most definitely not be the last one I make.  I love the versatility of options for a cowl, shawl collar, or hoodie!

It was a super quick sew.  I like to use a stretch stitch on my sewing machine, and then finish the edges with my serger afterwards.  I just don’t have good luck serging alone, and this way I don’t have to worry about pulling pins or trying to place them outside of the path of the serger blade.

The floral is a modal cotton jersey from Girl Charlee, and the open weave knit was from the red tag apparel bin at Jo-Ann’s.  I have a few more knits in my stash and Hadley could use some new shirts, so I’ll see if I can whip out another within the last few days of KCW.

Cute! I’m also a huge fan of this pattern, I’ve sewn up four so far, and definately more to come…

Isn’t that the best sign of a great pattern – when you can’t wait to make another?
