Slack Hanger Art Gallery

This is a contributor post I originally posted at The Girl Creative and wanted to bring home to share with you today.  This display is still hanging in our breakfast nook – it’s great to be able to easily swap out the artwork our daughters bring home from preschool or create at home!
Since we closed in the wall between our breakfast nook and the office, this wall has been sitting there blank – just begging for something to pretty it up.  The only question is what to put there without breaking the bank.  I think I’ve solved the issue with a thrifty to nifty project using slack hangers of all things!

My husband has a variety of wooden slack hangers, and seeing that he doesn’t own that many dress pants I figured he wouldn’t mind if I “borrowed” a few.  I haven’t ever looked for them at a thrift store, but I have to imagine they could be found there if you browsed around.  I grabbed my trusty jar of washi tape and prettied them up a bit.  I love that I can easily change the tape for a different look (or if Dave ever wants his hangers back!).  I measured and marked five evenly spaced and level spots on the wall and hammered nails in place to hold the hangers.

Now I have the perfect spot to display artwork from my two daughters.  This would also be a great place to hang a series of printables, or to spell something fun.  Oh, the possibilities!

Really fun! My kid’s produce so much “art” these days it would be nice to just rotate stuff out regularly. I think I have just the spot! -rachel
