PR&P Pantone Party

I always enjoy participating in events with Project Run & Play, and today is no different!  This party is all about the Pantone COLORS of the year (2!): Ultimate Gray 17-5104 and Illuminating Yellow 13-0647.  I partnered with Raspberry Creek Fabrics, who provided all the fabrics for this post.

Let’s start with the swimsuit I made using my Viridian Swimsuit pattern.  Viridian is for sizes newborn to 12 years.  I chose this sunny yellow solid and paired it with a gray and white gingham as the accent.  Even though I made several of these suits during pattern development, this was the first one I made using the flutters.

Hadley felt more comfortable taking photos with something to wrap around herself, so I grabbed my robe.  A cute pair of sunglasses, and she could pretend she was ready for the beach!

Then we have the Tip Top Tunic and Dress by Petit A Petit + Family.  It is sized for 6 months to 12 years.  I had made a top and dress version of this a few years ago and those were enjoyed thoroughly for the amazing twirl factor!  Hadley was very excited when I showed her this dress and she remembered how much it spun!  I used a lovely yellow rayon linen which is sold out and got the gray using charcoal gray chambray.

It was a bit of kismet that RCF didn’t have quite as much of the buttercup yellow rayon linen as I needed to do the solid dress I had planned.  I took advantage of the color blocking included in the pattern and made the center panels yellow and gray for the side panes and bias.  The double layer sleeve gave me one more area to use both colors.  Hadley loved the welt pockets tucked into the join of the front panel.  We pulled out the cute yellow Livie & Luca shoes that only have just enough room for Hadley’s poor toes to squish in for one last photo shoot.  I couldn’t not use them since they coordinated so well!

Lastly I made a Via Top, Tunic and Dress by Sofilantjes in long sleeve dress length.  This was part of the Project Street Style collaboration.  I didn’t have time to make one for the look book, so this was the perfect opportunity to remedy that.  I used two different Club prints from Raspberry Creek Fabrics: a tonal gray and white tie dye stripe that has retired, and yellow pin polka dot which is part of the basics collection and will always be available.  You could substitute this marble swirl to get a similar look.  The body of the dress is the French terry base, and the cuffs and neckband are from the cotton Lycra.

The Via is for sizes 12 months to 14.  I made this with Arden in mind, but Hadley was in the modeling mood so she gets to be in the photos.  It is super cozy in the French terry and would be great paired with leggings or on it’s own like we’ve got here.  The way the color blocking works, there’s no side seam on the body, which should add to the comfort factor of this easy style.

So fun! I love her modeling, and all the clothes are just perfect for the Pantone Party! And yes, those shoes were too perfect to be left out. Thanks so much for joining this tour!

[…] The other Fragola Top uses more of the ocean blue rayon linen from the maxi length skirt and paired with abstract squares print stretch crepe*.  This fabric had more body than the other, giving it a different feel.  She also has the Frutta Purse I made using stash fabric for the crown and strap, and leftover yellow linen from the Pantone Party.
